The year 1967 found Charles Souza
and Jack Reiter as President and Vice President. Andre Jaquemet was Chief
Steward. Shop Committee members George Capron, John F.
Kennedy and Edward Ferreira rounded out the Negotiating Committee. Albert
Gauthier was Recording Secretary and Edward Sullivan was Secretary
Treasurer.
This year's contract was negotiated in March to take effect from
April 1, 1967 to December 31, 1969. Per the contract, the local enjoyed 3
raises during this time period, each in the neighborhood of 5%. One thing
unusual about the contract is, according to the book, the first raise took
effect on January 1, 1967 which was three months prior to the effective date
of the contract.
The
negotiating committee, along with Business Agent W.J. Baillargeon, met with
the following company negotiators to forge this year’s contract:
Robert Darling, Jr., Richard Osborn, E. Leonard Kane, W. Rogers
Hamel, Robert Dewhurst, Robert Crump, William R. Jones
