The bargaining agreement at the beginning of the year between Local 587 and Raytheon was ratified by the membership on February 27, 2016 and expired on February 23rd. The IAM Local 587 Shop Committee and Raytheon completed the 2019 contract negotiations on February 22 and the results of the Best and Final Offer were communicated to the Local 587 membership on the morning of Saturday, February 23. 

The ratification was held at the Green Valley and there were a total number of 77 IAM Local 587 members in attendance. Of the 77 votes cast, there were 58 votes in favor of the proposed contract and 19 votes opposing, securing the ratification with an overwhelming 75%. Some of the highlights of the four year contract are wage increases of 2.75% (2019, 2020) and 3.0% (2021, 2022), an immediate increase of $60 in the pension, a ratification bonus payment of $1500 and a merging of job codes 05 and 06 into the higher job code 08.
