IAM Local 587 2013 Memorial Wall

The following members have passed away in the year 2013. Our hearts go out to all our departed brothers and sisters and to the friends and loved ones they left behind.

	JOHN N. ABBENANTE Brother Abbenante joined Local 587 in September 1968 and worked as a Materials Specialist before retiring in May 2009. He passed away on February 15, 2013 at the age of 69. For more information:  http://cranston.patch.com/groups/obituaries/p/obituary-john-abbenante-69
	FRANCES J. (STICKS) WINTHROP Brother Winthrop passed away on February 25, 2013 at the age of 69. He joined Local 587 in October 1965 and worked as an Assembly Helper and Chromate Technician before his lengthy tenure as Sheet Metal Fabricator in the Machine Shop. “Sticks” was active in the union since the mid-1960s, holding positions such as Steward and Trustee. 	ARMOND J. CORRIVEAU Brother Corriveau joined Local 587 in December 1980 and worked as an inspector until his retirement in April 1989. He passed away on February 26, 2013 at the age of 89. For more information: http://www.hathawayfunerals.com/obits/obituaries.php/obitID/782444

Photo Not Available	LENA P. HOFFMAN Sister Hoffman passed away on June 03, 2013 at the age of 82. She joined Local 587 in July 1968 and worked as an inspector prior to her retirement in December 1993. Lena also spent several years as Recording Secretary for Local 587. 	LAWRENCE RHODEHAMEL Brother Rhodehamel joined Local 587 in October 1965 and worked as an assembler before retiring in March 1994. He was involved in the Local 587 leadership for many years holding positions as Steward, Conductor Sentinel, Trustee, District Delegate and Auditor. 	JAMES E. CULLEN Brother Cullen joined Local 587 in August 1977 and worked as a tester. He retired in January 1993 and passed away on August 28, 2013 at the age of 84. 	LUCY R. LEVADA Sister Levada joined Local 587 in June 1966. She was active in the local union leadership, becoming Recording Secretary in 1968 and subsequently taking on roles such as President, Vice-President and Shop Committee. 	JOHN SANTOS SR. Brother Santos passed away on November 04, 2013. He joined Local 587 in October 1965 and was active in the union leadership as Chief Steward in 1976. 	MICHAEL J. (MICKEY) RIPA Brother Ripa joined Local 587 in July 1979 and worked many assembly-related jobs such as Tool Crib Attendant and Staker in the Machine Shop. He was active in the Local 587 leadership as Steward for the Level 8 Assembly Specialists. Brother Mickey passed away on December 12, 2013 at the age of 57.
